Soap & Glory Brow Archery

Brow on top is without anything and brow on bottom with the archery pencil

As promised in my last post (can be found here) there was a couple of products which I was going to write a post on in the future and I thought I would start today by introducing the Brow Archery pencil from Soap & Glory.

If you read that post you will know that this product has made it's way into my everyday make-up so we all know I think it's great. So here's why I think that...

I have struggled in the past with finding a brow product which created a natural filling-in affect rather than colouring in/drawing on appearance but I have now found it. This pencil but Soap & Glory has such a fine nib that it's perfect for drawing very hair-like lines to fill in the brows. By using a soft hand and doing short strokes you really can draw on a whole new brow without anyone knowing you didn't grow it!

I have the shade 'Hot Chocolate' and think it works well in my naturally medium/dark brows. Usually I find brow products to be too dark and if this was a SLIGHTLY lighter shade then it would be perfect but with using a soft hand this shade works very well!

I've been told this is a great dupe for the very popular Anastasia Brow Wiz so if you are a fan of that and want a cheaper version (this is £8 from Boots) then definitely try this out!

Daily Make-up #2

This weekend I've been visiting one of my sisters in Dundee. It was such a last minute thing that when I was packing my make-up I didn't really have time to think about what to take! So, I thought the best thing to do would be to just pack my make-up straight after applying it to my face.

I seem to have come away with quite a few things but this made me think that it's been almost a year since I showed my daily make-up products and this is pretty much what I reach for on a daily basis. I do usually use a primer- right now it's the body shop one- but I managed to forget that so just pretend it's in the photo as well...thanks.

Current Favourites #3

I don't often have enough new favourites to do a new favourites post every month so I feel I often forget to do them at all! But recently I have discovered quite a few new beauties which I have really been enjoying and thought I'd take this opportunity to share them with you.

  • L'oreal Infallible 24H Matte '13 Rose Beige'- I love this foundation SO much and you can read why here
  • L'oreal False Lash Superstar Mascara- my first ever two ended mascara and I really enjoy the effect that the 'primer' ends gives. Although this doesn't hold the best curl on me- no mascara does- it builds up beautifully to give lots of volume while still maintaining a beautiful fluttery appearance
  • No7 Natural Blush Cream 'Maple Silk'- the most natural looking blusher I've ever used and thanks to the creamy texture I think it's perfect for Summer and lasts well throughout the day
  • Rimmel Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder '021 Transparent'- my other two powders which I use add a bit of colour so I was really wanting a clear powder just to help keep my shine away so thought Rimmel was a safe choice. This is a great powder for setting make-up in place and adds such a lovely matte appearance while still keeping the skin looking natural and non-cakey
  • Rimmel Oh My Gloss Lipgloss '130 Purrr...Glossy Cat'- not a fan of the name of the shade but absolutely love the colour. It's a slightly pinky/neutral shimmery colour which looks so pretty during the day. The formulation of this gloss is also lovely as it's not at all sticky and sits so effortlessly on the lips
  • Bourjois Bronzing Powder '51'- I'd heard so much about the famous Bourjois 'chocolate' bronzers so when my Benefit Hoola bronzer ran out this was my first go to. It adds such a natural warmth to the skin and is such a gentle pigmentation that it's easy to apply without having to be scared of going a bit over the top and will stay put all day long
If you would like to see a full review on any of the products then just let me know!

Bourjois 3 for 2 PLUS a freebie!?

I will be the first to admit that I'm more of a Boots girl but my closest drugstore is a Superdrug. When I popped in today for more toothpaste I somehow found myself in the make-up aisle- funny that!

As I was just having a wee browse around to see what's new in the cosmetics world I caught an offer by Boujois. It was on a 3 for 2 deal ,which is always worth checking out, and on closer inspection I saw you also got a free travel version of their very popular 'Nail Polish Remover' pot. I have heard many good things about this nail varnish remover and thought that since holiday season is fast approaching this is a genuis travel companion which I'm sure many of us girls would be thankful of while away!

I also picked up one of their new 'La Laque' nail varnish in '2- Chair et tendre', their beautifully pigmented eyeshadow crayon in '02-Brun dadaiste' and their very popular bronzing powder in '51'.

So really this was a 4 for 2 offer and one which I thought too good not to share. Go get to Superdrug quick before this offer finishes!!
